Results and skin types
When will I see a difference?

Most people notice calmer, less oily skin within the first week and see fresh marks from recent pimples soften between the second and fourth week. Old, deep pigmentation takes two to three months and may lighten rather than disappear. Anyone promising a clear face in days is exaggerating.
Which skin types can use Saraku?

The Coffee Lemon bar suits normal, combination and oily skin. The Aloe Vera bar is made for sensitive skin that reddens easily. The Carrot bar is for dry and dull skin. If you have eczema or broken skin, patch test on the inner arm first and start with the aloe bar.
Does it work on body dark spots, underarms and the back?

Yes. The same exfoliation and brightening that helps the face works on the back, shoulders and underarms, where friction and sweat cause dark patches. Use gently and do not scrub.
Can men use it?

Of course. Roughly a third of our orders are for men, mostly for oily skin, razor marks and back acne. The routine is the same.
Is it safe for teenagers and children?

The coffee bar is best for teenagers and adults because of its exfoliation. The Aloe Vera and Carrot bars are gentle enough for children's skin.
How to use it
How do I use the soap correctly?
+
Wet the face or body, lather the bar in your hands, massage in soft circles for twenty to thirty seconds, rinse with cool or lukewarm water and pat dry. Twice a day, morning and night. Do not press hard and do not add a separate scrub.
Do I need a moisturiser or cream as well?

Usually not. Because the glycerin stays in the bar, most people find their skin comfortable after washing. If yours feels dry, a light moisturiser is fine. Sunscreen in the daytime is strongly recommended if you want dark spots to fade.
How long does one bar last?

A 130 gram bar gives forty to sixty washes, around six weeks of twice-daily use. Natural soap softens if left in water, so keep it on a draining dish out of the shower stream.
Can I use it to remove makeup?

Yes, it removes everyday makeup and sunscreen in one wash. Heavy waterproof mascara may need a second lather.
Ingredients and safety
Are there really no chemicals?
+
There are no synthetic detergents (SLS or SLES), no parabens, no synthetic fragrance and no artificial colours. The bars are saponified pure coconut oil plus the botanicals named on each product page. Every ingredient is listed on the ingredients page.
Is coconut oil soap bad for oily skin or pores?

Raw coconut oil can clog pores, but saponified coconut oil is a different substance that rinses away oil and dirt. Customers with oily skin are among our most consistent repeat buyers.
Does lemon make skin sun-sensitive?

Fresh lemon juice left on the skin can. In the soap it is diluted and rinsed off within a minute, so that risk does not apply. Wear sunscreen in the day regardless.
Is the Guavora bar a treatment for aluham?

Guava leaf, neem and aththora are traditional botanicals used for fungal patches in Sri Lanka, and customers use the bar as part of daily washing. It is not a medicine. A patch that spreads or does not settle should be seen by a doctor.
Delivery and payment
Do you deliver to my area?

We deliver to every district in Sri Lanka through Koombiyo courier, usually within one to four working days of the order. You receive an SMS with a tracking number when the parcel is handed over.
What does delivery cost?
+
Delivery is currently free for the first 200 online orders. After that, delivery is Rs 400 and free on orders over Rs 5,000. The checkout always shows the exact figure before you confirm.
Can I pay when the parcel arrives?

Yes. Cash on delivery is available islandwide and is the option most customers choose. Just pick it at checkout and pay the courier.
Can I pay online?

Yes, through PayHere, which accepts Visa, Mastercard, bank transfers and eZ Cash. Card details are entered on PayHere's secure page, never on our site.
What if my parcel is damaged or wrong?

Message us on WhatsApp with a photo and your order number and we will replace it. We would rather fix a problem than argue about it.

How do I get advice before ordering?

Is there a bundle discount?

Yes. Three Coffee Lemon bars cost the price of two, and five bars save Rs 2,488. Both apply automatically in the cart.
Where is Saraku made?

In Colombo, Sri Lanka, in small hot-process batches. Read the about page for how a bar is made.
